Testing PCB Canvas with TestFlight
The alpha is for invited testers only: you get an email or a link from the developer. This page explains how to install the app, what to try and how to send feedback.
You need an iPad with iPadOS 18 or later. There is no iPhone or Mac version yet. Everything is free in the alpha, and there are no accounts.
Install
- Install TestFlight from the App Store on your iPad (free, by Apple).
- Open the link from your invitation on the iPad, or tap View in TestFlight in Apple's email. Reading the email elsewhere? Enter its code under Redeem in TestFlight.
- Tap Accept, then Install.
- Turn on automatic updates for PCB Canvas so fixes arrive during the test.
Invitations are personal; please don't forward them. A build lasts 90 days.
What to try first
- The welcome guide, then the Tutorial: a 6-key macropad from schematic to order, about 20 minutes.
- Your own small board: Templates → ESP32-C3 minimal. Add an LED, a button or a sensor, update the PCB, autoroute and export files for JLCPCB.
Feedback
- In the app: settings (the sun button) → Send feedback… It builds a zip with a screenshot of the canvas, the version, your iPad model, the recent log and any crash reports, and opens Mail. Your project is included only if you tick it. Nothing is sent without you.
- After a crash, the next launch offers Send report…
- In TestFlight: take a screenshot → Share → Share Beta Feedback.
Privacy
The app uploads nothing by itself, and your projects stay on your iPad. It goes online only for the library pack list (this server) and for JLCPCB part prices in the order review. TestFlight is Apple's service: the developer sees the name and email from the invitation, installs and crash logs. More on the privacy page.
